HEMOLIA End Users

A key role in development of the HEMOLIA system will be reserved for the knowledge and experience of its future end-users. Therefore, the special sections of the website are strictly dedicated to the ned users' involvement in the HEMOLIA activities troughout the project execution. You will find some more detailed information in the Workshops and Training sections.

Workshops

HEMOLIA will use the organization of workshops for facilitating the collection of the users’ requirements. For this purpose three HEMOLIA workshops are planned during the project duration. An intensive end user workshop will bring together both practitioners and academics studying anti-money laundering systems, tools and methods. In addition a workshop will be organized with academic partners in money laundering issues and terrorism financing, such as Law Faculty of University of Bialystok. This workshop will serve as a perfect venue for dissemination of knowledge acquired through the HEMOLIA project.

 


 

The current Workshops information:

The 'HEMOLIA Conference and Demonstration Event' was held on February 10-11 2014 in Bucharest, Romania, at the Parliament Palace.  

The host of the event was The National Office for Prevention and Control of Money Laundering – the Financial Intelligence Unit of Romania, FIUR. The event was co-organised by PIAP as the 3rd project Workshop with End-users

The HEMOLIA Conference and Demonstration Event was a new important activity organised in Romania, dedicated to raise awareness on the use of new resources in processing AML/CTF cases by the FIUs and LEAs, as well as to understand the system requirements and selected business solutions and to test the HEMOLIA product itself.                       

The participants were encouraged to discuss and to share the opinions in respect to the future of these innovation and to further steps to be taken for sustaining the implementation of such technologies at EU level for the benefit of the fight against money laundering and terrorism financing.

The event was held in English, French and Romanian languages, the interpretation services being provided.

The workshop gathered over 100 participants, including a strong representation of the European FIUs - Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Montenegro, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Serbia.

Training

Training and learning activities such as the exchange of good practices and communications strategies for banks, FIUs and other types of end users will be implemented to ensure a wide reception of the HEMOLIA tool for fighting ML. There will be two HEMOLIA work products: the HEMOLIA manual and the system of information sharing built upon the HEMOLIA gathered manual information which will take the form of a series of workshops providing the practical knowledge on the best way to use the HEMOLIA manual. The workshops will be ‘Trainer Trainings’ – regional trainings with participants from all the countries described in the manual.
